Windows 365 securely streams your desktop, apps, settings and content from the Microsoft cloud to all of your devices to provide a personalized Windows experience anywhere. Windows 365 extends end-user computing from the client to the cloud for businesses of all sizes, simplifying the experience with a complete service to securely buy, manage, and scale, all in one place. Windows 365 comes in multiple versions, including Enterprise and Business.
Windows 365 Business is for any business, with no technology prerequisites, that requires fewer than 300 Cloud PCs. Simply use windows365.microsoft.com to purchase, deploy and manage Cloud PCs any time.
Windows 365 Enterprise leverages Microsoft Intune to enable customers to provision and manage Cloud PCs using the same skills they use to deploy physical PCs, fully integrated with Microsoft Entra and built on Azure.
This interactive demo walks you through the Windows 365 Business experience, using Microsoft 365 Admin Center to purchase a Windows 365 Business license and windows365.microsoft.com to assign licensees to and deploy Cloud PCs for employees. You can use the interactive experience by following the prompts to click and fill out highlighted links and form fields. For text input fields, a copy/paste button is provided that will make it easy to place the relevant text on your clipboard to paste into the software simulation.
To get started, choose an exercise at left.
In this module, we’ll demonstrate how to purchase Windows 365 Cloud PC licenses from within Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
You will begin in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (admin.microsoft.com) logged in as admin@contoso.com to purchase your Windows 365 Business licenses - just like you normally do for other licenses such as Office 365 or Microsoft 365 Business Premium – in just a few simple steps.
In the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Marketplace in the left navigation.
On the Marketplace page, under View by category, select Windows 365.
Under Windows 365 - locate the Windows 365 Business description and select Details.
On the Windows 365 Business page, click to expand the Select a plan menu.
There are a variety of plans available, enabling you to purchase the license and size of Cloud PC that fits your use case best.
Select the 2vCPU/8GB/128GB plan, which includes Microsoft Teams, Outlook and the Office apps, making it suitable for Information Worker work from home scenarios.
For more information on available options, see Windows 365 Business sizing options.
After selecting the 2vCPU/8GB/128GB plan, click Buy.
Review the details on the Checkout page and then click the Place order button.
You have successfully purchased a license for Windows 365 Business and are now ready to assign that license to a user.
Click anywhere on the screen to continue.

Once you’ve purchased one or more Windows 365 Business Edition licenses it’s time to review and (if appropriate) modify your organization settings for Cloud PCs. You can provision and manage Windows 365 Business Cloud PCs by using the Microsoft 365 admin center or windows365.microsoft.com. On windows365.microsoft.com you can use the Windows App web experience to configure default settings for Cloud PCs, specifying::
- Single sign on - Use Entra ID authentication to provide a single sign on experience for Cloud PC users.
- Account type - This setting determines whether users are provisioned as standard users or local administrators.
- Operating system - By default, new Cloud PCs will be provisioned with Windows 11 – this setting allows you to specify whether you prefer Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Language and region
- Microsoft Intune - For accounts with an Intune license subscription, you can opt to have Cloud PCs automatically enrolled in Intune during initial provisioning.
Organization settings only apply to new Cloud PCs (changes are not retroactively applied to existing Cloud PCs) – so it is beneficial to configure these prior to provisioning Cloud PCs for your org.
Starting on windows365.microsoft.com, logged in as a admin@contoso.com, select Open Windows App.
On the Management page, select Update organization settings.
On the Organization settings panel, review the Account type, Operating system and Language and region settings – Contoso will be keeping the default values for those settings.
Under Microsoft Intune, select Enroll new Cloud PCs in Microsoft Intune.
Click Save at the bottom on the organization settings panel.
Once your changes are saved, click the X to close the organization settings panel.
You are now ready to provision Cloud PCs by assigning licenses to users.
Assigning a license to a user in windows365.microsoft.com acts to immediately provision a Cloud PC to that user, with no additional IT admin actions required.
In the Windows App management page, you will see a list of active users in your organization. We will start by assigning a license to Allan Deyoung.
Select Allan Deyoung in the list of users.
On the person card for Allan Deyoung, select the Licenses and apps tab.
Under Licenses, select the checkbox next to Windows 365 Business 2 vCPU 8GB 128GB.
After selecting the Windows 365 Business license, click on Save changes.
After your changes have been successfully saved, select the Devices tab on Allan's person card.
You can see that Allan’s Cloud PC is already being provisioned.
In a short time, it will be available to use (and manage).
Click anywhere on the screen to proceed to a point in time after Allan’s Cloud PC has been set up.
In accordance with the organization settings you set earlier, Allan’s Cloud PC was automatically enrolled in Intune during the provisioning process. As such, you have access to the Cloud PC and a number of administrative actions from within Windows App. These actions include:
- Restart - Restarts the Cloud PC.
- Reset - Reset does the following:
- Reinstalls Windows.
- Removes all personal files (OneDrive data remains).
- Removes any changes you made to settings.
- Removes any apps installed by the user.
- Restore - Point-in-time restore lets an administrator restore a Cloud PC to the exact state it was at an earlier point in time.
- Rename - Changes the name of the Cloud PC shown to the user on windows365.microsoft.com.
- Resize - which preserves user and disk data, lets you choose between the following, without requiring reprovisioning of the Cloud PC:
- Upgrade the RAM, CPU, and storage size of a Cloud PC. \
- Downgrade the RAM and CPU of Cloud PC.
- Resizing doesn't let you downsize disk space.
Select Resize to review that experience.
There are a number of reasons you may wish to resize a user’s Cloud PC, including:
- Higher RAM and VCPU cores to run CPU intensive applications.
- More disk space for file storing.
- Less RAM and vCPU cores to run their current workload applications.
Note that in this demo you do need to have the appropriate license available to do so.
In this exercise you will not be resizing Allan’s Cloud PC, so select Cancel and then close Allan’s person card.
You have now successfully provisioned a Cloud PC and previewed the management capabilities available to you in Windows App.
